Kintamani

Kintamani is a district in Bangli Regency, North East of Denpasar. Kintamani is also a tourist area of natural sights in Bali. A beautiful mount Batur volcano and Batur Lake could be seen from Kintamani. It has  cool air temperature during the day and cold at night

It is easy to reach, because Kintamani also the main way that connecting Buleleng regency to Denpasar through Bangli. The tour route linking this tourist regions are Batur, Tampaksiring, and Besakih. Usualy available in one tour package in many tour and travel agent or hotels tour in Bali.


The potential of this tourist area is an unique and amazing mountaints views. After about 2 hours driving from Denpasar, we will reach Kintamani, precisely at a place called Penelokan, which is Bali words means a place to look over, this place is the best over look among the area where we can enjoy the natural scenery in the region. Penelokan is located in Kedisan village in Kintamani district.

From Penelokan we can see the stunning scenery. combination of Mount Batur and its expanse of black stones with Lake Batur is a blue crescent-shaped in a caldera which by the tourists said to be the most beautiful caldera in the world. Penelokan already have adequate infrastructure as tourist attractions, such as lodging and restaurants. 

From Penelokan we have two alternatives to continue the journey in Kintamani. First we could continue north toward the village of Batur. In this village we can visit one of the Kahyangan Jagat (universe celestial) temple in Bali named Pura Luhur Ulun Danu Batur. This temple was originally located in the Southwest of Mount Batur which is then removed along with the displacement of villagers to the top.

The second alternative we can go down to the center of Kedisan village crossing the lake to an old village named Terunyan. In the village of Terunyan we can see Bali ancient civilization called the Bali Aga. In this village, people who have died are not buried but placed just beneath a tree. These corpses do not smell at all.
