Magoak-goakan (A Troops Booster Games)

Magoak-goakan is a dance games from the Northern side of Bali island, Buleleng regency. Its a games, that played by the kids or teenagers but could be performed as a mini opera. The name magoak-goakan is taken from a bird name Goak (Raven). This game is about solidity and keep the group in form.

The games of magoak-goakan played by at least 10 people 1 person will be a hunter and the others will form a long line connected by holding the person in front of them. The hunter will try to catch the tail which is the very last person in the line but the header of the line will of course protect its tail. Once its catch the rest of the gorup will ask the hunter, what he want to release the tail and what ever the hunter want, the group has to grant it to exchange the tail that had catch by making a noice as a group of raven.

There are two kinds of Baris dance; Baris Tunggal which is mean solo Baris and Baris Gede which is mean Big or massive baris usually performed for temple festivals only.

"Makotek" The Battle Of Wood Stick At Munggu Village.

Munggu village is a small village that located in Mengwi district, regency of Badung. As know before Mengwi is one of Bali's big kingdom which has a lot of story. Munggu is the village at southern of Mengwi, close by the beach and it has one unique tradition that held in every 6 month coincide with Kuningan Day the Hindu's holiday in Bali. The unique tradition called Makotek (battle of Makotek)

Bali International Kite Festival

In the dry season of June through August, the winds blow continually from east to west in most of Indonesia. Whenever you do tour around Bali no mater with tour bus, rent a car, or rent a bike, almost everywhere in Bali if you look up you will see plenty of kites adorn the sky. In this season also known as Kites season in Bali. (for your safety if you are driving, please make a stop to enjoy this beautiful vision)

Every village's has their own, personally either group. The villages group's kite usually giant one and put in their community center and raised up the flag which is their kite's color. Some shape of kites are famous and common in Bali. The traditional shape are, Bebean (fish shape), Jangan (bird shape with long tail), Pecukan (leave shape) beside than shape, lot of creation has made, such as Ship shape, aircraft shape, human shape and much more.  Balinese children and adults fly kites in the vacant rice paddies during this period.

Perang Pandan At Tenganan Village

Before I talk about Perang Pandan, let me tell you about the village first. Tenganan is came from balinese word Tengah means center, this is believes because the people of Tenganan was living at the shore and then move into inside the island. Tenganan Pegeringsingan is located at Manggis district, approximately 70 km eastern from Denpasar. It is close by Candidasa and can be easily reached by public or private vehicles.

Omed-Omedan (Kissing Ceremony)

Hello Traveler, this time we will go to Sesetan Kaja Village in Denpasar. Its not to hard to reach Sesetan Kaja only 7 Kilo meters southern from Denpasar center.

Sesetan Kaja is an ordinary village around Denpasar, but there is one unique traditions that held on the day after Caka New years (Nyepi day) called Omed-Omedan (Kissing Ceremony)
