Statues Of Bali

The statue has become something that ordinary in Bali. The statue seemed to be a part of Balinese life. They honor heroes by making a statue, keeping the balance of nature by building statues and also to decorate the room and garden. 

Most of the statues in Bali is taken from the Hindu's God character, and local hero, thus not a few of them are base on daily activities of society.

If you are touring in Bali's streets, you will find the statue in nearly every crossroads whether it is large or small. People build this statue with the belief that every intersection is a sacred place and the beginning of disaster. The statue which was built at in the middle of intersection has the function as a manifestation of God's palace to maintain security and balance in the area.

This statue of Ngurah Rai (Patung Ngurah Rai) is also located in an airport area which is a Bali's hero of Indonesia's independence war and became the name of international airport of Bali.

Dewa Ruci Sculpture (Patung Dewa Ruci) is located at the Kuta roundabout. This is a character from one of the Five Pandavas (Bima) against the dragon who tried to coil around and drown the world.

Four Faces Statue (Patung Catur Muka) is located at the down town of every regency in Bali. Four Faces are four manifestation of God, facing onto every direction (Nort-South-East-West), as a sign that God always protect His people from every direction.

Statue of Goddess Saraswati (Patung Dewi Saraswati) is a statue of goddess known as the Goddess of knowledge, so that this statue will be found in front of almost every school in Bali.

Garuda Wisnu statue (Patung Garuda Wisnu) is Bali's most famous icons. A large and tall statue of Garuda Wisnu plan and in the development process built in Jimbaran area. The area is called Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Culture Park. The most replica of this sculpture in wood and stone carving are made and sells everywhere in Bali. Almost every government office and houses in Bali has this statue, which believes bring peace as represented by the god Vishnu.

As a local arts, in Bali also make a statue for decoration, which you can find in your hotels or villas, even in many restaurant in Bali.
