Beside a beautiful nature, friendly people, and unique culture, Bali also has aunique local cuisie. As a tourist destination of course Bali is loaded by international cuisine right now. Hotels, restaurant are providing the tourist with their homy cuisine.
Western, Mediterranean, Chinese, Australian, Japanese, Italian and Local Indonesian cuisine are plenty served by those restaurant in Bali. From fast food restaurant to fine dinning restaurant. The unique thing is, it is kinda rare to find stars restaurant that serve local Balinese cuisine. Ussually local Balinese cuisine are sell by local small restaurant called "warung".
Actually, Bali has plenty of unique tasty cuisine such as Babi Guling, Betutu, Lawar, Urutan, and much more. One of the popular local cuisine that usually served in the family is Jukut Ares (Banana Trunk Soup).

Jukut Ares is made of baby banana tree mixed with ribs and meat (cow, pork, duck, or chicken), and spices. It is usually served in Balinese ritual ceremonies, dished up for family and people who assisted in arranging the ceremonies. Jukut Ares is served with rice. It is available in many local restaurants (warung) in Bali regencies, such as Denpasar.
Banana stems thinly sliced, then add oil and salt. Then its will be knead until the juices come out and limp. All the spices are sauted along with the meat and bone. Insert the thinly sliced bananas that already knead and continue to boil until cooked.
Jukut Ares is a great condiments for a Betutu with rice, or other meal like babi guling with rice.
